Vaxsjön

A very warm welcome to Vaxsjöns fiskevårdsområde! Vaxsjön is a small, idyllic lake of 17 hectares. It lies between Frostavallen and Skånes Djurpark in Höör municipality and is part of Rönne ås main catchment. The lake is surrounded by forest and pastureland. There are, for example, perch, zander and pike to fish for in the lake. NOTE: There are strict rules concerning vessels on the lake; see the PDF further down this page. There are plenty of fishing spots with or without jetties along the lake, as well as a walking loop around the lake, making it accessibility-adapted all the way around. The bathing areas at Vaxsjön are beautifully situated and offer much, as well as barbecue areas, toilets, bins and fishing jetties. We offer different types of fishing permits and also boat hire. The fish-conservation association offers three aluminium boats for hire (Linder fishing 440). They hold four adults and cost 250 kr/day. These are hired and can be booked through the service counter at Citygross, Marknadsvägen 2 in Höör. Telephone: 0413-293 60. Note that, according to the County Administrative Board’s decision, no type of boat motor is permitted! Electric motors are also covered by this prohibition. How to get here: Vaxsjön is approx. 5 km from Höör station. Buses run here several times a day from the station and take 6 min. If you want to drive, that is also possible; coming from Frostavallsvägen (road 13) in Höör, turn right at the Frostavallen sign. You can also take the road past Skånes Djurpark and continue approx. 5 km to Frostavallen and Vaxsjön. Accommodation tips: There are several different accommodation options around the lake. Only in the company of a guardian/adult/person who has a valid fishing permit (on that person’s quota). Fishing is managed by Vaxsjöns fiskevårdsområdesförening. Our association actively works with local fish conservation and with improving the service and accessibility for you as a visitor to our water. During the 2022 operating year, the board further increased accessibility around the lake; among other things, jetties were renovated and extended.
