ÖversjönÖversjön is a typical rift-valley lake surrounded by rocky outcrops on several sides. It is a spring-fed lake in the Vällstabäcken water system, which empties into Mälaren at Skarven. Översjön is now eutrophic (a nutrient-rich lake), with good pH values, c:a 7,8, good alkalinity (buffering capacity against acidification) and a good oxygen content of 9-11 mg/l.Area 50 ha Length 1800 m Greatest width 600 m Mean depth 2,8 m Greatest depth 4,2 m Level above sea level 22,4 m Visibility depth 2,2 - 2,8 m.The most common fish species are perch, pike and coarse fish such as roach, bream, rudd, silver bream etc.Minimum size for pike is 75 cm. Fishing is permitted only from the bank. For fishing with set lines, 10 set lines/person are permitted.NOTE: Applies to members only, not day permits. In Översjön you have a good chance of catching really large perch. Every year, several large fish between 0,3-1,5 kg are reported. The large perch are caught mainly when ice jigging, fishing with set lines or bait fishing with live small fish.Översjön often freezes early in the season and provides good practice opportunities for competition ice jigging anglers. The year's first ice-jigging competitions are often held here. Winter anglers often catch small perch of 10-100 g, with a chance of really large bonus fish. Perch are caught almost equally well throughout the fishing area. Those who prefer pike fishing can choose to spin fish, bait fish or use set lines in winter. It is rare that you go without a catch. The spin angler finds good fishing spots around the entire lake, except for a reed-covered bay in the south-western part of the lake. Pike take most lures; wobblers, spoons and spinners work well. Nowadays, however, the jig is many people's favourite lure. Its advantage is that it does not snag in reeds and aquatic plants as easily. In winter you can often enjoy pleasant fishing with set lines.Remember to release pike that you do not want on the dinner table. Naturally, provided they are not injured. To avoid injury to the fish, you should not use a landing net or gaff. If you like bait fishing, you will find plenty of small coarse fish in the lake. But there are also larger fish, including large rudd. Anyone needing bait fish can quickly catch small roach, rudd, silver bream or bleak by bait fishing.SäbysjönSäbysjön was formerly called Ålstasjön. The lake is now a spring-fed lake for Igelbäcken, which empties into Edsviken at Ulriksdal. The lake's pH values vary with the seasons between c:a 7-8,4. The lake has good alkalinity (buffering capacity against acidification). The oxygen content is low, and in some years in late winter is almost zero. This is nevertheless considered normal for a shallow nutrient-rich lake. This is because abundant phosphorus leads to high plant production in summer. In winter, the organic material decomposes, which consumes oxygen. At the same time, oxygen supply is low in winter. The plants' oxygen production decreases with reduced light and temperature. In addition, ice cover prevents oxygenation from the air. Area 88 ha Length 2500 m Greatest width 400 m Mean depth 1,65 m Greatest depth 2,3 m Level above sea level 17,7 m Visibility depth To bottom Test fishing Map.The most common fish species are perch, pike and roach. There are also plenty of crucian carp and tench. Maximum size for pike is 75 cm. For fishing with set lines, 10 set lines ice fishing/person are permitted. Only members may fish in the lake.Fishing is permitted only from the ice. Perch and pike are the attraction. The lake previously had very plentiful really large pike. During the 80s, pike of 8-12 kilos were caught using set lines. A pike caught by poaching has been reported to weigh over 16 kilos. Perch often seem to move in larger shoals, which explains why ice-jigging fishing can sometimes be brilliant and at other times yield nothing at all. It is not so easy to find the fish, but the perch caught are often relatively large. An average weight of a hectogram is not uncommon. You also have a good chance of catching perch of 0,5 - 1 kg.During the 90s, the lake suffered severe oxygen deficiency on two occasions and also in 2002-03 , which resulted in the fish stock being greatly reduced. At the latest test fishing, we were able to establish that the lake once again appears almost dead with regard to the most common species.Test fishing is carried out with Järfälla municipality every year.
