Skikkisjön is approximately 20 km long and is divided into three smaller lakes with channels between the lakes. Within the area there is a smaller lake (Skabbegatt) and several smaller tarns. Large trout, grayling and char are caught annually in Skikkisjön. Large perch and pike are rewarding catches even for the less experienced angler. During winter we offer fine ice fishing for whitefish, grayling, perch, trout and char. Skabbegatt contains large perch and occasionally pike can be caught. QUOTA-RESTRICTED AREASkikkibäcken, which flows out to the west, is approximately 7 km long in total, and approximately 3.5 km of the upper part of the stream is included in our area. Only fly fishing is permitted in Skikkibäcken, where there are large grayling and trout. Skikkibäcken is a QUOTA-RESTRICTED area where we protect the fine trout and grayling stock. Fishing is only permitted June - August. A maximum of three fishing permits are sold per day. The minimum size for grayling and trout is 30 cm. One trout or grayling may be kept; otherwise Catch and release applies.Fishing permits for Skikkibäcken are sold only by Järjagården - Mail: [email protected] Tel: 0940-48 50 55 The area contains one or more waters for catch-and-release, i.e. the fish are carefully released after being caught. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 15. Only accompanied by a parent/guardian/adult/person with a valid fishing permit (on that person's quota) Applies only in certain waters or at certain places, see fishing rules/comment Handheld tackle only Must carry valid identification Only between certain dates and/or time periods, see fishing rules A special family permit is available and required, covering children's/young people's fishing Children/young people must be able to fish independently (cast/reel/fish themselves) The parent/guardian must have read and approved the applicable fishing rules and regulations. Children up to 15 fish freely in the company of a parent or other adults. Children should be informed by their companions about the fish-conservation rules we have, to understand how important fish conservation is for a healthy and strong stock. Skikkisjöns FVOF was formed to care for and manage the fishing in part of Skikkibäcken and in Skikkisjön with its tributaries. The area lies within Vilhelmina and Storuman municipalities in Västerbotten. We offer fine fishing in scenic surroundings in undisturbed nature. The principal purpose of our fish-conservation measures is to strengthen and improve the natural stock of large-grown lake trout. We therefore take care that catches of trout and char are handled carefully and that valuable specimens are released back into the water to strengthen natural reproduction. Other measures aim to offer exciting fishing for large pike and big perch.
