The fish population consists mainly of pike and perch.In Storsjön and Lövsjön there are also isolated specimens of previously stocked zander, grayling and trout, but the recommended fishing is for perch and pike.Storsjön is known for both good availability and large fish, and the caesium level is low here.Fishing with handheld tackle can be carried out from shore and boat.At Orrhällan by Bocknäset, approximately 600 m west of Storsjöbron, a wind shelter with barbecue area has been built.However, a boat is required to get there in summer.There are wind shelters on Lillholmen in Gallsäterviken and on Ärstaholmen east of the E4. In the area there is one or more catch-and-release waters, i.e. the fish are carefully released after capture. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 16. Only in the company of a guardian/adult/person who has a valid permit (on that person's quota) The lakes of the fisheries management area are located around the settlement of Herrskog by the old E4. Storsjöns FVOF is an association of the fishing rights owners in Storsjön, Lövsjön, Bölestjärn, Mälandstjärn, Kläpptjärn, Återsjön and Översjön. The fisheries management area association was formed in 1991 in connection with the reconstruction of the E4. The association works for active outdoor life with an emphasis on fishing and nature in the fisheries management area. It must also promote and ensure that the natural fish population is retained. The association has built a number of wind shelters and marked a number of shallows in the area.
