Ånimmen is an elongated, (12 km) rift-valley lake with clear water, near Vänern.There are ample opportunities here for fishing, swimming, paddling and sailing. In winter, the ice invites ice fishing and skating trips. Around the lake are several protected natural areas with walking trails and botanical sights.The lake's maximum depth is 33 metres and it is connected to Dalsland Canal through Snäcke lock. Ånimmen has a varied fish stock. Perch, pike, eel, burbot, bream and roach are some of the naturally occurring fish. Salmon, trout and char are stocked regularly.A launching ramp is available at Lunneviken approximately 4 km south of Ånimskog church; the location is marked on the map.Recommendations from the Swedish Food Agency:Children, young people, pregnant or breastfeeding people, or those wishing to become pregnant in the future may eat fish from Ånimmen at most 2–3 times per year, and others may eat it up to 1 times/week. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 15 years. Ånimmens fisheries management area association carries out active work with local fisheries management and to improve service and accessibility for you who visit our lake.
