Anten

Anten is a typical western Swedish clear-water lake whose shores often consist of washed moraine. The surroundings nearest the lake consist mainly of mixed woodland with a large proportion of oak. 37 % of the shoreline, mostly in the northern part of the lake, consists of agricultural land. The water entering Anten comes via small streams and rivers from a catchment area 11 times larger than the lake's surface area. The outlet at the southernmost end of the lake is regulated with an amplitude of 0.5 metres. The outlet runs via Ålandasjön to Mjörn and onwards into the Säveån water system, which flows into Göta Älv in Göteborg.Anten is a very fish-rich lake with approximately 18 different fish species. Perch is dominant, but there is also plenty of pike, vendace, zander and roach. Bream, burbot and eel are other common fish species.
