Ärrsjön is located south of Fröskog/Fengersfors, 2 Swedish miles south-west of Åmål, and covers 550 ha with a maximum depth of 27 m. The lake is connected to Dalsland Canal via Strömmens and Snäckes locks in the southern part. Stockings have taken place of Gullspång salmon and Västersi ... 29 April 2025 Due to health reasons, we advise against eating fish from Ärrsjön. Årrsjön is located south of Fröskog/Fengersfors, 2 Swedish miles south-west of Åmål, and covers 550 ha with a maximum depth of 27 m. The lake is connected to Dalsland Canal via Strömmens and Snäckes locks in the southern part. Stockings have taken place of Gullspång salmon and Västersilen trout. Restoration of Verkån took place in 2015 (removal of migration obstacles). Otherwise, good stocks of perch and pike. Possibility of launching at Fröskogs Guest Harbour at the northern end of the lake. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 15. The association works for sustainable fishing for our and future generations.
