The stretch is approximately one kilometre long and here Göta älv naturally forms a beautiful ravine with flowing water and with the Åkerströms nature reserve downstream. The water also contains abundant rainbow trout, pike, perch, zander and various types of whitefish. The stretch starts at Oscarsbron and goes down to the suspension bridge. Oscarsbron is one of Sweden's most visited viewpoints and is filled with tourists when the water is released into the otherwise dry waterfall channel during Fallens dagar. Salmon fishing is central, just over one kilometre from central Trollhättan it is easily accessible both on foot and by car. There are good parking opportunities adjacent to the river. Fishing is carried out, above all, for salmon and trout during the summer period. Salmon fishing for newly ascending Atlantic salmon starts to pick up around Midsummer, and the most common fishing methods are with spinning fly, spoon lure and angling with shrimp or herring.
