Hökensås

Silence, peace and quiet are sought by many. Hökensås Sportfiske has conducted recreational fishing tourism in the area since 1957. Here on the Hökensås bedrock ridge, approx. 45 km north-west of Jönköping and 15 km south-east of Tidaholm, there is tranquillity. The area is strongly characterised by remnants of the inland ice, where substantial sand deposits have shaped the area with ridge formations and dead-ice hollows. Many lakes are crystal-clear spring lakes, but there are also forest tarns with darker water. The raven is a characteristic bird in the area, where black-throated diver and horned grebe also breed, while Tengmalm's owl, capercaillie and goldeneye also thrive. The landscape is reminiscent of the pine forest areas of lower Norrland, with its stark forms. Hökensås Sportfiske offers fishing primarily for rainbow trout, trout and, in Sänksjön, also char. We mainly stock rainbow trout. The ratio of 80% rainbow trout and 20% trout is a balance we try to maintain. Some lakes also have natural stocks of, among other species, pike, perch, roach and tench. Fishing is mainly from shore and wading works at most locations. There are also jetties at some lakes, two of which have disability-adapted jetties. It is also possible to hire a boat in five lakes in the area. The lakes are divided according to fishing method - fly fishing, spinning fishing and bait fishing. Some lakes are quota waters and are available only for fly fishing; some are hire lakes and can be hired by companies or groups. In winter, ice fishing is carried out in all permit lakes, but not in the quota lakes or hire lakes. Within the area there is one or more accessible fishing waters. Hökensås Sportfiske AB is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hushållningssällskapet Västra and was founded as early as 1957. For more than 60 years, we have offered fishing all year round, for trout and rainbow trout, in 30 natural lakes in a unique wilderness setting within Hökensås nature reserve. The company has three fishing areas: Baltak, Hökensås and Tiveden. There are different permits for each fishing area, and permits can be bought on Hökensås's website or directly through iFiske. Fish are supplied from our own farms Källefall and Baltak.
