Marsjöarna

The following lakes are included in the fishery conservation area: Marsjön, Lillesjön, Storsjön, Lysevattnet, Hivattnet, Savetjärn and Torstjärnet. Marsjön is actually a collection of lakes which, through regulation by canals, have become one connected lake. It is the source of Teåkersälven's waterway system, which eventually flows into Vänern. Fishing for perch and pike is very good. Clear water and sheltered bays. The lake has a typical wilderness character. Total area: 397,4 HA. Scenic surroundings in a historic industrial setting, located north of Bäckefors works between road 2254 and Torstjärnet nature reserve. The nature reserve is approximately four kilometres east of Bäckefors, on a peninsula between the lakes Torstjärnet and Hivattnet. Torstjärnskogen is old-growth forest with a large element of pine and decididuous trees. The nature reserve is small, but it nevertheless has many species that are found almost only in forests left to take care of themselves. Storsjön is a deep source lake, while Hivattnet is a clear-water lake with alternating deeper and shallower sections. Lysevattnet is connected to Storsjön by a sound. Travelling by boat along the lake is exciting through all the sounds and passages, which also make fine fishing spots. There are plenty of shallows, islets, bays and skerries which create the lake's unique character and, combined with its size, give the visitor a complete wilderness experience. The views are often spectacular and beautiful, with dramatic mountain slopes plunging into the clear water. Many ducks and wading birds nest here. Suddenly an osprey appears, or you hear the raven teasing a sea eagle arriving from Vänern, or why not a nearby nesting golden eagle. The lake has abundant fish, mainly perch and pike. There are also some trout in the lake, but they are often quite difficult to tempt and are protected. It is a meditative and calming place where you can travel in peace and quiet. Launching ramp available, road surface asphalt. NOTE! Marsjöarna require careful boat driving due to the large number of stones and shallows! A recommended fairway is marked with navigation marks. Water-scooter use is prohibited. Parking: At the bathing place, limited space. Within the area there is one or more accessibility-adapted fishing waters.
