Sävelången, Lillelången

Excellent fishing, pike, perch, now zander, burbot and whitefish. Certainly, but a very weak trout stock. ... Sävelången is an exciting lake with a chance of large specimens of almost all species present. Perch reach a high average weight because the lake has a large stock of smelt, which spawn at the beginning of May at Norsesund. A number of trout over 5 kilos have also been caught in Sävelången – the largest approx. 12 kg. Nowadays the trout stock is declining because trout smolts may no longer be stocked and natural reproduction is weak. Good places to fish are around Nääs bridge, where successful fishing can be conducted from the wooden jetty. Large pike, perch and now also zander are best caught out in open water. The Sävelången pike record is 18 kilos, one of the largest pike caught in the Gothenburg region. Perhaps the best perch spots are next to the 15-metre shoal at Ingared and the shoal outside Tollered. Smelt perch are found here in both summer and winter. It is probably also possible to have good burbot fishing in Sävelången, but this fishing is fairly unexplored. Ice fishing can be good for both pike and perch, but currents under the ice make it tricky! Håvaredsviken is, however, a relatively ice-safe and popular area.. At Nääs bridge there is a café and the beautiful, easily accessible fishing jetty, which is a very good fishing spot. There is also a launching ramp at Nääs. Sävelången is also well located for those without access to a car. It is easy to travel to the local train stations Floda and Norsesund, both of which are next to good fishing spots. Area: 570 ha. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 15.
