Älvdalens FVOF FISHING RULES APPLICABLE TO TOURIST FISHING LICENSES For fishing activities within the Älvdalen fishery conservation area. All waters: Live bait prohibited in all fishing. Closed hours: In flowing water fishing ban 1/9 to 30/4. - In the Österdalälven fishing ban 1/9 to 15/5, however fly fishing for grayling is permitted 1/9 to 31/12. - In the Rotälven downstream of Jöllenbron, fly fishing for grayling is permitted from 1/9 to 31/12. - On the Storsugnet-Åsendammen stretch of river, fishing ban 1/9 - 31/3 Min/max dimensions: - For the Österdalälven, window extractions of 25-35cm apply for grayling and window extractions of 25-40cm for trout. - For Rotälven, Aspvassla, Navran and Rymman, window extractions of 20-30cm apply for grayling and window extractions of 25-40cm for trout. - For other flowing waters, window extractions of 20–30 cm apply for grayling and trout, but do not apply to brook trout. - In Tommostjärn and Bergholstjärn it is permitted to keep one prize fish under 40 cm/day. - On the Storsugnet-Åsendammen river stretch, it is permitted to keep one game fish under 40 cm/day. - For other waters, the minimum size for game fish is 30cm. Catch limit: - From Blybergsdammen down to the dams of Spjutmosjön, within Älvdalens Fvo, all trout will be released. - In flowing water 3 valuable fish/card and 24 hours, No restriction on brown trout. - In all waters 3 valuable fish/card and 24 hours. - In Aborrtjärn and Kårängtjärn 3 rainbows/card and 24 hours. - When fishing, it is recommended that barbless hooks be used. Fishing from boats is prohibited: Abborrtjärn (at Tennådalsvägen), Djustjärn (at Tennådalsvägen), Brynåstjärn, Ingeborgstjärn, Kalvtjärn, Kolmarkstjärn, Kropptjärnarna, Lilla Blästtjärn, Lilla Sugntjärn, Mellan Sugntjärn, Lomtjärnarna, Måbergstjärn, Piltlokarna, Sjåbocktjärn, Stortjärn (at Hållstugan), Svartgessi (at Hållstugan), Tangeråstjärn, Tommostjärn, Bergholstjärn, Tylttjärn, Urdtjärn. Fishing ban from boats with gasoline-powered engines: Lilla Knäsjön, Lövtjärn, Långtjärn in Loka, Märråtjärn, Navardalssjön, and Stora Knäsjön. Trängslet shooting range area: -Tourist fishing permits are only valid in the main channel of the Rotälven River and the dam. Fishing ban/Exempt fishing waters: - The river between Lilla and Stora Knäsjön, the streams between Sugntjärnarna, all inlets to Rämmasjön, the Rämmaån between the lake and Sågdammen, the Mangravsbäcken and Sigerajbäcken which flow into Navarsjön, and the streams from Tommostjärn and Bergholstjärn. - 100 m upstream of Trängslet's dam, the river channel between Trängslet and Storsugnet and from the tunnel mouth up to 100 m downstream of the canal outlet and 100 m downstream of the tunnel outlet at Åsens power plant. - Otherwise prohibited 50 m downstream of other power plant dams. - In our waters leased by Sveaskog: Lumtjärn, Gambögtjärn, Rotbusstjärn, Fisklösen (west of Trängslet) and Marutjärn. - Hälltjärn in Loka, Simaven (north of the ice rink), Åsen dammens sport fishing (the embankment of Åsen dammen) west of highway 70, as well as private and jointly owned ponds within villages, settlements and cottages which are not included in this fishing license. Float fishing: - Only permitted in waters where boat fishing is permitted. - At Tommostjärn and Bergholstjärn, float fishing is permitted with a fly and barbless hook. It is permitted to keep one fish under 40 cm/day. Information: - The fishing license is valid throughout Glysjön and in Trängsletdammen up to Krypan within Särna/Idre FVO and down to Spjutmodammen's power station (not below) within Mora/Våmhus FVO. - For these areas, only one hand gear/person and fishing license is allowed. – The fishing license is valid for hand-held fishing also in waters within the area bounded by the shooting range boundary in the east, the Transtrandsgränsen boundary in the west, and the Särnagränsen boundary in the north, through leases with Sveaskog, with the exception of privately leased waters (see fishing ban). The fishing license is personal and may not be transferred. The fishing license must be signed by the holder and must always be carried when fishing. The holder must be able to identify themselves. Please take a photo of the fishing license to show the supervisor. In all pike waters where there are no trout, char or grayling, angling is permitted without any restrictions on numbers. Fishing should be conducted in moderation and with good fishing management practices in mind. Fishing may only be conducted for personal needs, with the exception of roach, which may be sold. Anyone caught fishing without a fishing license or violating the above applicable regulations, the Fisheries Act, the Fisheries Ordinance or other general laws/regulations risks prosecution. Children and young people under 16 fish for free: - The same fishing rules as above apply to children and young people. - Guardian's responsibility for children and young people under 16 years of age.
