Welcome to Björkvattnet - with some of the most untouched fishing waters in the mountain world. Björkvattnet lies right next to the Norwegian border and is so remote that the village has even had its own traffic rules. Lake Björkvattnet has a rich stock of good-sized trout and Arctic char, and very high-quality summer and winter fishing. The eight tarns are located in widely differing environments: some lie on the mountain just below the tree line, while others are surrounded by forest. There are trails to all the tarns; some lie 4-5 km from the nearest road, which in practice means complete solitude for those wishing to fish in untouched waters. Two tarns and Lake Björkvattnet lie close to or directly beside a road, making them very suitable for people with disabilities. Björkvattnet and its fishing waters are also situated in one of the most scenic and wildlife-rich areas of the mountains, offering fantastic nature experiences beyond the fishing itself.
