Hushållningssällskapet Jämtland There are separate fishing licenses for Medtsugeån and Saxsjön respectively. Fishing license is valid for fishing with a rod in Medstugeån within marked limits and in Saxsjön. The holder of the fishing license undertakes to follow the fishing rules that have been set. The fishing license is personal and cannot be transferred. Fishing licenses are only sold to residents of Medstugan's hostel. Fishing in Medstugeån is open from 1 June – 31 August and fishing in Saxsjön all year round. Fishing with a rod and a maximum of 2 hooks is allowed. Only fish in the size range of 30 -45 cm may be taken care of. Daily catch/bag limit is a maximum of 3 fish. Only fishing from shore is allowed. Rum or live bait may not be used as bait. Avoid catching small fish (under 30 cm). If this is still the case, be careful when reintroducing. Moisten your hand before gently grabbing the fish, unhooking it and releasing the fish back into the water. Stress the fish as little as possible. The same procedure applies when catching large fish (over 45 cm). The measure is important for continued good fishing in Medstugeån. For Saxsjön, a daily catch/bag limit of 5 fish applies. Fishing permits also apply to accompanying youth under the age of 16 (2 children/youth per card).
