This legendary area in the far north of Jämtland has, since the 1800s, had a remarkable attraction for recreational anglers and other nature lovers. Here in the upper parts of Ströms Vattudal, lakes and streams lie like a glittering string of pearls, watched over by high mountains and deep forests. With small villages here and there along Vildmarksvägen, like welcoming oases in the wilderness.In Frostviken there are all types of fishing environments and species. Streams, mountain and forest tarns, lakes, shallow lakes, rivers and brooks. Trout and char, grayling and whitefish, perch and pike. There are easily accessible waters near roads, and more demanding destinations in untouched mountains and countryside. Frostvikenkortet is a collaboration between 10 local fisheries management areas and three permit fishing areas; Ankarvattnet–Lejaren KFO, Hela Leipikvattnet staten och SCA, Kycklingvattnet KFO, Stora Blåsjöns SAMF, Jormvattnets FVO, Kvarnbergsvattnets FVO, Björkvattnets FVO, Gäddede FVO, Håkafot–Häggnäsets FVO, Fågelbergets FVO, Risede FVO, Lidsjöbergs FVO and Övre Vattudalens FVO.
