Långåfisket Through Långåfisket, Långå FVOF offers varied, close-to-nature sport fishing with the prized fish trout, char, grayling and whitefish as well as pike, perch and rainbow trout. The rules are simple and apply everywhere in the area to everyone who fishes. Fishing right holders, villagers and cottage owners have the same rules with some additions. We want you to also follow our recommendations and contribute to good fishing in the future! Together we will preserve, care for and use the fishing resources we have! A warm welcome! WARNING The water flow in Ljusnan can unexpectedly increase rapidly and become very strong! RULES that you must always follow: You must always have a VALID FISHING LICENSE with you and be able to show it. Children fish for free until they turn 16. FISHING WITH ONE ROD AT A TIME is the only permitted fishing method and applies to fly fishing (max. 3 hangers, also applies to spinning flies), spinning, trolling, angling and ice fishing. MINIMUM SIZE for game fish such as trout, char, grayling and whitefish is 25 cm. Fly fishing with catch & release, C&R, applies here for all trout in the coming years as the reconstruction of the natural trout population is underway. The general fishing license applies. Skälingshån is not included in the fly fishing stretch. Grundsjön - General catch limit for char in Grundsjön to three char (Grundsjöröding) per person and short day. Fishing right holders and villagers - There are no changes to the special rules that apply to fishing right holders and villagers. Fishing right holders have the right to household fishing without catch restrictions (other than for Grundsjöröding at certain announced times). A FISHING BAN applies during the fish's spawning season and can be temporarily imposed to protect the stocks. Grayling spawning season is April and May. All waters have a fishing ban from September 1 to October 31, except Långå-Ljusnan, Skaltjärn, Stortjärn (Långå) and Sångtjärn. Grundsjön has a fishing ban from September 1 to November 15, and from May 10 until summer fishing opens, Friday 01:00 one week before Midsummer. For the mid-river downstream of Grundsjödammen on the lower side of Hovdebron, a FISHING BAN applies up to and including the outlet in Långåljusnan. The stretch is protected for natural reproduction of the local population of Ljusnan trout as part of the fisheries conservation association's trout project. REPORT CATCHES (species, weight, length, sex), fishing location, fishing method, type of bait and other things that are important for Långå FVOF's planning and fisheries management. Report via email: [email protected] BOAT MOTORS may only be used in Långå-Ljusnan, Orten (Ulften) and Grundsjön. MASK - Långå FVOF allows fishing with a mask as bait in lakes, ponds and calm waters in Långåljusnan ( NB not stream stretches ) as well as in streams and smaller watercourses. Examples of these are Blästrebäcken, Rändan, Gruckan, Hemsjöbrynnet, Stöptjärnbäcken, Mittån downstream of Grundsjödammen, Unsån, Gangeltjärnbäcken and Lakatjärnbäcken. Recommendations that we want you to follow: GOOD REPUTATION & ETHICS are what you have as a fisherman. Use it out of consideration for the fish, nature and other anglers. A “clear conscience” is part of your fishing happiness and your fishing memories! TAKE YOUR FISH that you need for the day, e.g. 3 fish per day. Put the rest back. This gives more fish the chance to grow big and create a new generation. And feel free to catch your record fish of a lifetime! Do not take more fish than you need for the day from waters that have no restriction rules. HOOKS without barbs make it easier to release the fish without damage. Clamp the barb down with pliers. Preferably use barbless hooks in all waters. Applies to all types of hooks. CATCH & RELEASE Catch, gently drill and release the fish so that it can be released without damage. TURN means that you start upstream, make a few casts and move a few steps downstream. Switch fishing spots if others want to try “Your” spot. FLYTRING and BOAT can be used except in Anån/Mittån and if you do not disturb other fishermen. A LIFE JACKET worn correctly can save your life! A mobile phone in a waterproof case is good! Watch out for the winter ice! LIBBING or SCRUBBING IS NEVER ACCEPTED and is against Långå FVOF's rules! It is never allowed to throw away, hide or bury packaging, textiles, glass, metal, plastic, fishing lines or food waste. Fish guts may be left in nature if they are free of parasites, e.g. tapeworms. You are required to have information about current fishing regulations which can be found at www.langafisket.se. Violation of the regulations entails a control fee (Act 1981:533). All fishing is done at your own risk. CONTROL FEE The Fisheries Inspectorate has the right (ACT 1981:533) to issue a control fee of SEK 2,225 to fishermen who violate the rules within Långå FVO. The fee is issued on site and must be paid within 14 days, after which the matter can be submitted to Collection Agency. NOTE: This is not a fine but a control fee.

Långåfisket - in the heart of Härjedalen - offers varied fishing of very high quality with natural stocks of prized fish such as trout, Arctic char, grayling and whitefish. The unique Grundsjö Arctic char is a rarity. Långå fisheries management area covers five square Swedish miles of mountain-adjacent nature with 47 lakes and tarns, nearly half of them with Arctic char, as well as 45 km of flowing trout and grayling water. New 2021. The board of Långå fisheries management area's association has revised the rules for fishing within the area, while the restored flowing sections of Långåljusnan are now opening for fishing. This means that the flowing sections of Långåljusnan regain much of their attractiveness for sport fishing after extensive restoration work has been carried out. The section is now ‘longer’ after bends and curves have been recreated, the oxygen content has increased, deep channels form migration routes, spawning grounds benefit fish and other aquatic organisms, and deep pools are to counteract the consequences of climate change. Quite simply, the section holds more water than it has done in the last fifty years. Winter fishing on Grundsjön. Winter fishing on Grundsjön has been very popular and well known for decades. Grundsjön is a regulating reservoir that supplies Långå power station with power for electricity production. This means that you must be particularly attentive to ice conditions and the consequences that exist. Within the area there is one or more accessible water. For further information, see the fishing area's map where these points are marked, or contact Långå FVOF. In the area there is one or more "put-and-take" waters with stocked prized fish. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 15 years.
