Barbless hooks and all fish must be returned. The stretch runs from where Rånda flows into Ljusnan and approximately 2,5km upstream in Råndan. (See map) Fishing on Naturliga vattens permit. Linsell and Ransjö lie in the middle of lovely Härjedalen. The villages are situated on the banks of Ljusnan, with the impressive Sonfjäll massif in the background. The area is known for fantastic fishing in both swift rapids and calm waters, rich wildlife and magnificent nature. There are remarkable opportunities for relaxation, but also for active and rewarding outdoor life. Where Ljusnan flows through Linsell-Ransjö FVO, there are some of upper Ljusnan’s last natural rapids and currents. Fine grayling, trout and lurars stand here. In addition to Ljusnan, approximately 25 km of the lower part of Rånden is included. Valmen is a tributary of Rånden; approximately 10 km of Valmen towards Sonfjället is included in Linsell-Ransjö Fishing Conservation Area. The fish species within the FVO are not only grayling and trout. The calmer parts of Ljusnan and Linsellsjön contain pike, whitefish and perch. The Ljusnan area: The area extends from Ortholmen in the north to just below the falls at Linsellborren, a stretch of approx. 25 km. There are many good fishing spots, but perhaps we especially wish to mention Ransjöforsen, Sveaforsen and Linsellborren. In addition to game fish, there are opportunities to catch fine perch and large pike. Rånden: Rånden is a shallow, undeveloped river with many fine stretches where grayling and trout hold. Rånden in particular is a highly appreciated river that attracts anglers from central and southern Sweden. It was restored after having been cleared of stones during the log-driving period. Valmen: Valmen is a tributary of Rånden. Valmen, or Valmån, attracts fly anglers who want grayling on the hook. Tarns: In addition to the running waters in the area, there are some tarns where fish are stocked. Subject to availability, Arctic char is stocked in one tarn, rainbow trout in another, and trout in 4 tarns. Please note that it takes approx. 10-12 hours for the water level in Vikarsjön to reach us. More than 403,11 (m a.s.l.) means there is a lot of water in Ljusnan. Less than 403,10 (m a.s.l.) is moderate. Poaching will be reported to the police. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 15. Applies only in certain waters or at certain locations, see fishing rules/comment. In stocked tarns, only in the company of a guardian with a permit.
