Nedre Långans FVOF

Nedre Långan is a typical wilderness water with varying rapids and calmer sections—approx. 30 km of fishing experiences to discover down to its outlet into the Indalsälven. The area is classified as being of valuable national interest. The forests around Långan contain one of the world's densest systems of pit traps. The valley has been inhabited by hunter-fisher communities since the Stone Age, as shown by remains in the area. Today there is almost no development along the just over 30 km-long river stretch. The river is relatively shallow and flows over calcareous areas, making it a very productive watercourse with great biological diversity. The river offers varied fishing opportunities—Långan has a changing character with different rapid currents and pools. There are natural opportunities for fly fishing. Långan is a primary tributary of the Indalsälven, with its sources in the mountains of western Jämtland. Nedre Långan, Lundsjön, Lillsjön. Näversjöarna. Långan: trout and grayling. Lundsjön: trout, whitefish, perch. Näversjöarna: perch, pike. Only catch-and-release applies in the area, i.e. the fish are carefully released after being caught. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 18. Biotope conservation, clearance of tributaries, shelters, barbecue areas.
