Trolling i Ströms Vattudal

Ströms Vattudal in Northern Jämtland offers exciting trolling for large Vattudal trout, rainbow trout, pike, etc. In the 8 mil-long lake system there is an opportunity for interesting fishing, with a good chance of also seeing bear, moose or other wild animals. A trolling permit is available for purchase, valid for Lake Ströms Vattudal. This covers five fishery conservation areas, from Hallviken in the south to Strocken, approx. 2 km downstream of Bågede. A total distance of approx. 80 km. The exception is the whole of Lake Öhn, as well as areas less than 100 metres from the fish farms. Strömsund, 100 km north of Östersund, is situated by Russfjärden in Ströms Vattudal. European Route 45 passes through Strömsund and, since time immemorial, the locality has been the commercial centre of northern Jämtland. The surroundings of Strömsund consist of beautiful and untouched nature and are one of the world's areas richest in bears. Visitors can choose to stay at Strömsund Camping or Hotell Nordica. For boat users, there are many good jetties to moor at for breaks and overnight stays. If you want a break from fishing for a while, there are many sights to visit. This means that large rainbow trout escapees and some Arctic char may get out. Boat-launching ramps are available by the local heritage centre in Strömsund, in Allviken, in Gärdviken by Lidsjöberg and in Hillsand. Nautical charts are also available for purchase in Strömsund. Water levels: The trolling group is a collaboration between five associations - Russfjärdens FVOF, Öhns FVOF, Bonäset-Risnäset-Äspnäs SFF, Dragans FVOF and Övre Vattudalens FVOF. The purpose is to provide a joint trolling permit for the whole of Ströms Vattudal, from Hallviken in the south to Strocken in the north.
