- Closed seasons and areas Catching trout and char is permitted from 1 January up to and including 15 September throughout the lake.
- If either of these species is caught during the closed season, the fish must be released into the lake regardless of condition.
- During the period 16 September-31 December, all fishing is prohibited within closed areas 1- 5.
- All fishing is prohibited during the period 15 April to 15 May at smelt spawning grounds as marked on the map.
- Please note the new closed area with a total fishing prohibition at the mouths of Svartån and Bulsjöån.
- Membership also entitles the holder to set lines max 15 hooks, longlines max 50 hooks, nets for bait fish and mörtstuga on water belonging to Boxholms Skogar AB in section 1.

Boxholms sport fishing club - rules Applicable provisions for sport fishing In addition to national fishing regulations, the provisions below apply when fishing within Sommens Fiskevårdsområde from 2023-01-01. A permit is required for sport fishing in the lake . The permit is personal but also applies to a husband, wife or cohabiting partner . It is of the utmost importance that that person's name is stated in the comment field when purchasing a permit. Fishing must not be carried out closer than 50 metres from a jetty or plot, nor in the vicinity of set nets or tackle. Young people up to and including 15 years of age are permitted to fish without a permit, but under the same rules that apply to the lake. Membership also entitles the holder to set lines max 15 hooks, longlines max 50 hooks, nets for bait fish and mörtstuga on water belonging to Boxholms Skogar AB in section 1 . NOTE! During the period 16 September-31 December, all fishing is prohibited within closed areas 1- 5. Char 65 cm Catch limit max 1 per day and person. Pike 40 cm. Zander 50 cm Catch limit max 2 per day and person. Eel 60 cm. Fishing methods The fishing referred to is angling, ice fishing, casting rod, fly rod and lure. Max two tackle (lines or baits) per permit. When trolling behind a boat, max two fishing baits. When fishing, hook tackle designed to snag the fish must not be used. Surface planer fishing, depth planer fishing and surface planers with planerboards are not permitted. Vertical fishing with a fish finder is not permitted east of Torpön. West of Torpön, vertical fishing is permitted at a maximum depth of 10 metres. Four ice fishing rods per permit are permitted in the western part of the lake, limitation Färjeläget- Torpöbron. The trolling permit This permits fishing with a downrigger or rod planer. No more than 6 fishing baits may be used simultaneously per boat. 1 person per boat engaged in trolling must have a trolling permit and the others must each have a valid permit. We recommend a single hook when trolling to minimise injuries to released fish. Catch reporting Catch reporting must be carried out annually by water rights owners, fishing lessees and sport fishers to the Fiskevårdsområde via iFiske's procedures. Control charge Sommens Fiskevårdsområde charges a control fee for infringements of the provisions stated above. Repeated net offences: 500:- Fishing in closed areas, all fishing: 4000:- Other infringements such as more fish caught than permitted or minimum size having been fallen below: 2500:- By purchasing a permit, you actively contribute to the care of the lake and its fish stocks. Through your conduct in nature and on the lake's clean water, you determine for yourself how pleasant the environment must be. Keep nature clean. Be careful with FIRE. Do not light fires on Sommen's beautiful rock slabs. Welcome out onto our unique lake!
