Free fishing licenses must be purchased at ifiske.se. Rules for everyone (fishing right owners and fishing license buyers) • All trout/salmon catches must be released (does not apply to fishing rights holders in the case of e.g. fishing, but common sense applies here) • Zander fishing ban from April 15 to June 15. This is to cover the entire spawning period. (no net ban and no release obligation for fishing rights holders, but common sense must be applied here, i.e. one should avoid net fishing during the period so that the pike perch population reproduces optimally) • Mandatory catch reporting applies to everyone who purchases a fishing license at iFiske. Everyone who fishes with nets must report catches per season to [email protected]. This is compiled for each annual meeting. Net fishing or crayfish fishing is not included for the public but is reserved for the fishing rights owner or lessee. Only fishing with hand gear (including trolling) is permitted for a fishing license purchaser. Filling out a fishing license The name of the fishing license purchaser must appear on the fishing license that must accompany the purchaser. Swedish place of residence or the country from which the buyer comes is sufficient address information. This is to prevent transfer. The buyer does not need to be asked for identification when purchasing a fishing license; this is done by the fishing inspector when the inspection is carried out on the lake. The fishing license buyer decides for themselves from which date they want to start fishing. This date must be entered in the line "Valid from…." and not left open at the time of sale. In the case of joint fishing, all partners must agree that part of the fishing is leased out. There are two types of leases: agricultural leases and commercial fishing leases. Commercial fishing leases are regulated by the Act (1957:390) on fishing leases, which has a structure similar to the provisions on agricultural leases. If the catch is greater than what is stated in the rules, the fishing license is forfeited and invalid, and it is thus illegal fishing as the fishing license buyer does not have a fishing license. The fee must be paid within 30 days, after which the matter will be forwarded to debt collection. The Swedish Championship final in Pike Trolling is held here 28-29 September 2024. Skagern is Sweden's 18th largest lake by area and a former bay of Vänern, with a depth of approximately 75 metres. Skagern's water is divided into two waters with a navigable sound between the two lakes, Lilla Skagern and Skagern, sometimes also called Lillskagern and Storskagern. Lilla Skagern is shallow, maximum 4 metres, somewhat darker and generally contains mainly pike, perch, whitefish, roach, bream, tench, as well as the occasional remaining spawning zander. Skagern is deeper, maximum depth approximately 75 metres, and has slightly better visibility. There is plenty of zander, pike, perch and whitefish here. Trout are difficult to catch as they decrease in number every year; most disappear mainly because of Gullspångs power station. Perfect conditions are offered here for all types of fishing. Approximately in the middle of large Skagern there is a large shoal rising to as shallow as 6 metres, where vertical fishing, jigging and spinning are extremely popular. There are two launching ramps in Skagern, Skagersvik and Otterberget. Travel between the waters is at your own risk. The fairway is usually marked with two buoys and a ball further in. On the way into Lilla Skagern, travel between the buoys and keep south of the ball. Normal/good water level is at 68,8. At extremely low levels, there may be problems launching at Otterberget. Coordinates N 58° 54' 42.94", E 14° 17' 30.30"-There is also a ramp at Skagersvik. coordinates: N 58° 58' 12.76", E 14° 6' 46.84". For further information about the water level: the lake's clear, clean water and beautiful bathing beaches, there are also remains here from the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages. The old village roads around the lake are well preserved and, if you feel like a swim, there are several opportunities at the many bathing beaches. There are manor houses and churches from the 1600s and 1700s here, and the jewel among them all is Södra Råda church site from the 1200s. Around the lake there are many options for overnight accommodation and places to eat. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 17 years. Handheld tackle only. There are free permits, which must be obtained, for children and young people. Fishing must take place at least 200 metres from land and 100 metres from larger islands. Handheld tackle only. The association was formed in 1986; its purpose and objective are to have sustainable fishing and to enable the public to have access to good sport fishing.
