Vrångsälvens FVOF To fish in Vrångsälvens FVOF, you have to have a valid fishing license. Children and youth under 17 years of age can fish for free. Pikes over 1 meter shall be released. All trout must be released. Respect the Prohibition on fishing in streams ( not Vrångsälven) and the lake Ämten and Halltjärnet. In the area there are Noble Crayfish. Be sure to wipe all fishing equipment incl boat to absolute dryness before moving between water, or wash in methylated spirits. This is to not spread the crayfish plague in the system.

Vrångsälvens FVOF is located in western Värmland and borders Norway to the north. The area offers beautiful nature, wild animals and varied fishing. Our largest waters are Vrångsälven, Långtjärnet, Bytjärnet and Kunttjärnet, but Snårtjärnet and Bretjärnet are also within the fisheries management area. Vrångsälven flows like a main artery from Norway and through the area and is the most species-rich water in the municipality, with 13 different fish species. Characteristic species in Vrångsälven are pike, perch, roach, ide, bream, tench, trout (very few) and zander. Långtjärnet and Bytjärnet have the most common species such as pike, perch and roach, but also some coarse fish. Large perch and hard-fighting pike occur in both waters. Kunttjärnet is a shallow tarn with perch, pike, roach and large tench. Tench fishing in the tarn is spectacular! The area has one or more waters for catch-and-release, i.e. fish are carefully released after capture. Free fishing for children and young people up to and including the age of 16. Vrångsälvens FVOF works to protect the red-listed species found in the area and to manage our waters so that predatory fish such as pike and perch benefit in the watercourses where suitable. We also seek to develop the trout stock in the watercourses where it thrives. We support cooperation in all these forms as long as it benefits our fishing waters.
