Åmänningens FVO The fishing license entitles you to fishing with spinning, angling, ice fishing or 10 angelfish per person. Fishing with drag and trolling is also included. Trolling with a rod (gear) on a daily pass, weekly pass. Trolling with a maximum of four rods (gear) on family cards and annual cards. Minimum size for pike-perch and trout is 45 cm, maximum size for pike-perch 65 cm. Maximum size for pike 85 cm. Children and young people fish for free up to and including the age of 15. Åmänningen is Västmanland's largest lake after Mälaren and Hjälmaren. It is located in Fagersta municipality in Bergslagen, with Engelsbergs bruk, one of Sweden's World Heritage Sites, as its nearest neighbour.The lake contains the famous Oljeön, with the world's only preserved oil refinery from the 1800s. Åmänningen covers 2260 hectares and has around 30 islands.The lake has plenty of pike, zander and perch, and there are also salmon trout and burbot.Anglers have, together with some landowners, created a pike factory in a watercourse connected to Åmänningen during 2025 Fishing is free for children and young people up to and including the age of 15.
