Open official websiteLake Spånen is located in beautiful mixed-forest areas just outside Alvesta beside national road 25. The lake is relatively shallow and has many larger boulders. The lake has very clear water with a pH of 7.0. The lake has an area of 265 ha and an average depth of 3 m. The lake is a spring lake and has no inflow. The lake's only outflow is through Lillå canal to Helige å and onwards to the main drainage area Mörrumsån. There is abundant birdlife at the lake. Children up to 13 years free fishing. Junior permit from 13 years up to the day you turn 18. Spånens FVOF is operated mainly as an interest association to monitor the lake biologically. The association is tasked with conducting good fisheries management for fishing-right holders and the lake's recreational anglers. The association works to improve service and accessibility. Spånens FVO was formed in 1962 and re-formed in 1988 as Spånens FVOF.
