Open official websiteLake Spånen is located in beautiful mixed-forest areas just outside Alvesta beside national road 25. The lake is relatively shallow and has many larger boulders. The lake has very clear water with a pH of 7.0. The lake has an area of 265 ha and an average depth of 3 m. The lake is a spring lake and has no inflow. The lake's only outflow is through Lillå canal to Helige å and onwards to the main drainage area Mörrumsån. There is abundant birdlife at the lake. The association is tasked with conducting good fisheries management for fishing-right holders and the lake's recreational anglers. The association works to improve service and accessibility. Spånens FVO was formed in 1962 and re-formed in 1988 as Spånens FVOF.
