The northern river section extends from Vargön power station in the north to Strömkarlsbron-Malgöbron-Klaffbron in Trollhättan in the south. In the river channel itself, fishing is directed mainly at large pike, perch and zander, as well as large freshwater trout. The former trio are found above all along the slow-flowing sections, while trout are concentrated in the currents at Vargön, Stallbacka and Trollhättan. Eel and burbot also occur along the whole stretch. In the broad vegetation belts at Karlsberg, large numbers of cyprinid fish flourish, to the delight of the angler! The association is affiliated with Sveriges Sportfiske- & Fiskevårdsförbund. The association's task is to monitor and safeguard sport fishing and fisheries management interests in and around the municipalities of Trollhättan and Vänersborg.
